Osoba, Gbenga Daniel To Join APC

If the on-going reconciliation move succeeds, former Governors of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, and Otunba Gbenga Daniel, with their supporters may anytime soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Osoba, one of the founding fathers of the APC defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) over alleged marginalisation of his group by the national leadership of APC while Daniel also decamped to same party ahead of the 2015 general elections.

An attempt by the leadership of the party to resolve the truce between Osoba and the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosu, proved abortive. Hence, Osoba with his supporters defected to SDP to realise his political ambition.

P.M.NEWS reports that the reconciliation moves is on again as delegations from the APC supposedly met twice with Osoba in his Abeokuta home.

A team led by the National Deputy Chairman of the APC and former Governor of Ekiti State, Engineer Segun Oni, were said to have had a discussion with Osoba immediately after the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Information have it that another delegation led by another former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi met with Osoba in his Abeokuta home on the possibility of his return to APC.
In the same vein, Otunba Gbenga Daniel is also making moves to rejoin Osoba in the APC fold.

It could be recalled that Daniel was a member of the Alliance for Democracy. He left in 1999 to join the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Interestingly, he contested the 2003 election against Osoba and worn. But his bid to regain his seat failed in 2007 when he was defeated at the poll  by the incumbent governor of the state, Amosun.
