CAN secretary kidnapped by gunmen in Ondo

The Executive Secretary of the Cocoa Association of Nigeria, Mr. Michael Adewunmi was on Thursday abducted by some suspected kidnappers, in Akure, Ondo State.

Report says the gunmen abducted Adewunmi at Akinjo Junction, Oshokoti area of Akure, the State capital with his personal belonging removed from his Toyota Lexus jeep which was abandoned at the scene of the incident with all doors opened.

Men of the Ondo State Police Command discovered Adewunmi’s vehicle, with registration number ONDO ANG 149 AA where it was abandoned and was taken to the Ijapo Police Station in Akure

It was further gathered that the police has begun investigation into the kidnapping, adding that the kidnappers have not made any demand yet.

Confirming the incident, the State police spokesman, Mr. Wole Ogodo, averred that the police have commenced investigation, adding that Adewunmi will be rescued soon.
