Facebook apologises for displaying Philippine flag upside down

Facebook has apologised for featuring an inverted Philippine flag to mark the country’s independence day on 12 June.
The social network greeted users in the Philippines on Sunday with the message: “Happy Independence Day! Here’s to all of the Philippines’ health, happiness and prosperity.”
However, the button that allowed users to share the greetings had the red portion of the flag on top, instead of the blue, which indicates that the country is at war.
Facebook took down the post and apologised after several people pointed out the error, but a screenshot was circulating on social media.
