Nigeria Police:-- Buhari is safe in Ekiti

  

The Ekiti State Police Command has assured that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, is safe in the state.

The state Police Commissioner, Taiwo Lakanu, assured that adequate security measures have been put in place that would ensure hitch-free campaign in the state in spite of the fears being expressed by members of the opposition.

Speaking through the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Victor Babayemi, in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, the police boss said the Force are not new in dealing with such situation in most effective way, assuring that there won’t be security laxity during Buhari’s visit.

Lakanu exuded confidence that the APC presidential hopeful would have a hitch-free electioneering in the state on tomorrow.

The CP stated that the command has no intelligence report at its disposal that indicated that some people are plotting to attack Buhari.

He said: “The command is not aware of any evil plot against Muhammadu Buhari. However, policing campaign rally is not new to us in the command and we have been doing excellently well in this regard.

“You are aware of how effectively we policed similar events in recent times. We have placed comprehensive security arrangements to cater for General Buhari and his team.”
