Lagos State Partners Kebbi on Rice Production

Lagos State Governor, Mr  Akinwunmi Ambode, yesterday, disclosed that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed with Kebbi State on agricultural commodity value chain, is in line with the agenda of the Federal Government to diversify the economy.

He said the pact would also go a long way to ensuring food security and job opportunities for the people, adding that it principally centres on boosting the production of rice, wheat, groundnut, maize, millet, sorghum, sugar cane and cows among others.

In a statement by his chief press secretary, Habib Aruna, the governor made the disclosure at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, during an official visit; stressing that the states are committed to boosting the economy to increase Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
