The Scot was sent to the stands during his side's EFL Cup defeat to Southampton after his side were denied a penalty
Sunderland manager David Moyes has been handed a one-game touchline ban.
The Scot was sent to the stands during his side's EFL Cup defeat to Southampton after using foul language to fourth official James Adcock.
Moyes felt his side were denied a blatant penalty and subsequently left his technical area.
He was handed a misconduct charge by the FA and decided not to appeal to avoid a possible two-game ban.
Moyes, who has also been fined £8000, will now be in the stands for this weekend's clash with Bournemouth.
The Black Cats boss has presided over the worst Premier League start ever, with his side sat bottom of the table with two points from their opening 10 games.
The pressure is firmly on ahead of this weekend's trip to Dean Court with the sack looming large.
Jamie Carragher has also slammed the Wearsiders' performances, claiming they could be the worst top-flight side ever.
“There’s the Sunderland team that went down 10 years ago with 15 points. This team could beat it," he said on Sky Sports.
“Aston Villa last season had better quality than this side. I just think there was a bad attitude going straight through that club.
“I don’t see a bad attitude at Sunderland I just see a group of really poor players who I think would struggle in the Championship.”
